Fabrication Process · 18. March 2018

A pair of silver and pearl earrings are born - click on photos for the explanation

The first step after design is applying the shape to sheet silver, then cutting out with a piercing saw

The two petal shapes are cleaned and a hole drilled in the centre

Using a doming block and round punches I shape the silver into the flower head

The flowers are then cleaned up and final shaping completed

The ends of the wires and fused to create a ball at one end

The other ends of the wires are forged to create a wider flat area which is drilled through

All the components are assembled, put together and given a final polishing
